It’s the time for Tibetan communities all over the world celebrating the Losar of 2018. According to the Tibetan Lunar Calendar, 16th February 2018 marks the beginning of the Year 2145, the year of the Earth Dog, which represents loyalty, protection and friendship.
Losar is considered to be the most significant festival of the Buddhist community in Tibet. The Tibetan Buddhists observe the festival to ward off evil spirit and welcome the arrival of the New Year filled with happiness and prosperity.
A 5 days Celebration Ceremony leading by our Spiritual Director, Venerable Sonam Tenzin Rinpoche from Barom Kagyu Sydney will be held in our Sydney Centre. The sessions will begin with the White Zhambala Pudja on 12th February 2018 through to the White Zhambala Blessing on Tibetan New Year Day, 16th February 2018.
On behalf of Venerable Sonam Tenzin Rinpoche, we are looking forward to seeing you in Sefton to celebrate the Losar Festival of 2018 together.
